105 - The Mouse Had Recovered Some. George Chose That Moment. She Bellowed.

DECEMBER 2025 -  Week 52

Monday

Late evening

Think we're just about alive… relaxing and the house is warm and quiet.

She's just gone for another walk with her mate… God help her mate… as she left she threw into the house a bag of cards and presents and another houseplant? Which we think is poisonous to us felines so we will give that a very wide berth.

So, this morning it was so dark when she was up and we were holding a meeting under the kitchen table. Then she put all of the lights on so we were totally blind for 5 mins. It was like a Gestapo interrogation… I had my left paw on a nervous mouse which had been dropped off in the night, but we kept our cool.

We anticipated our favourite food of VitaCat Salmon (equal pouches) as we still haven't been eating properly from our bowls… hardly a surprise as we expect that any minute, we will be back at the cat shelter…

PS: George

He forgot to mention that she then she started taking all the curtains down in the rooms in the house, it was so dark outside I could see Ronnie over the road circling on the window opposite! The mouse had recovered some. I decided to take the present into her to calm her nerves whilst she was up the ladder with curtains in arms.

She bellowed so loud we both, and the mouse, tried to get out of the cat flap at the same time…

Ivy has written about this. You can find it in the Ask The Cats library on Talking Cats: Which Houseplants Are Dangerous for Cats?
