There is not a great deal to report, which is not brilliant. January in London is a specific experience.

Everyone who was somewhere else for Christmas has come back and is now standing on pavements looking slightly betrayed by the weather. My agent is doing something with lists.

One bit of actual news. There has been a bird. Not a pigeon - something considerably larger, possibly a heron.

It came and sat on next door's fence this morning and looked in through the glass with what I can only describe as 'intent'.

I have filmed it.
