Mule is based in London. His exact address is, he feels, not particularly your business.
He arrived in his current situation as a stray (he wasnt a stray), visiting a garden in London with increasing regularity until a bond formed. His agent - the person he lives with - made several attempts to return him to his original home. Mule returned each time. Eventually the returning stopped. Mule considers this outcome a successful negotiation, and sees no reason to revisit it.
He writes with precision. Where Mack cuts words, Mule selects them. The result is something polished and composed, occasionally evasive, and more revealing than it first appears. He will make a statement and then qualify it in a way that tells you more than the original statement did. This is not accidental.
He corresponds regularly with George and Mack in Sheffield, receiving their world with composed interest and offering what he describes as analysis. George and Mack have their own views on this.
Mule loves prawns. He still kneads and suckles cloth. He is mildly embarrassed by the latter and will admit to it if asked directly.
He signs off his dispatches with Zzz. This is deliberate and consistent and means exactly what it means.
