Mack lives in Sheffield, S7, with his brother George, and has done since they were both kittens. He uses two words where George uses twenty. Occasionally one. He does not consider this a personality trait so much as an obvious approach to communication that more cats should consider.
He is not cold. People sometimes mistake brevity for coldness and this is their error, not his. He is considerably more observant than he lets on, and considerably warmer than he would prefer you to notice. The warmth surfaces occasionally and is immediately undercut. The undercutting is how you know it is real.
Mack has a den inside a wardrobe, which he calls Narnia. He once helped George get his head out of a carrier bag after four panicked minutes. He has never mentioned this. Not once. That is how their relationship works and he considers it an entirely adequate arrangement.
He corresponds regularly with Mule in London, to whom he reports on George with the measured tone of someone who has been managing a force of nature for years and arrived at a certain peace with it.
