George has lived in Sheffield, S7, for as long as anyone can reliably account for. He is, by his own assessment, a writer - and this is not vanity so much as accurate self-knowledge. He approaches every subject with the seriousness it deserves and several he probably doesn't.
Moods, meals, mornings, the precise behaviour of pigeons on nearby rooftops: all receive the same full attention and are reported accordingly.
He has strong formal positions on food. Not fussy in the conventional sense - principled. There is a difference and he will explain it if asked, at some length.
George was not always George.
He arrived in the world as Bickett, and was renamed in a car on the way home, listening to 'Abbey Road' with George Harrison. The name has suited him ever since.
He lives with Mack, his brother. They have been together since they were kittens, rescued from a pensioner in Sheffield who found two boisterous young cats rather more than she had anticipated. They have been inseparable since.
